Ways to Give
We believe that partnerships make progress! We partner with individuals, families, nonprofit organizations and special projects that tackle community challenges, help meet needs and improve the quality of life for our CBF vibrant communities. Our Ways to Give page outlines different avenues of giving. Gifts come in all shapes and sizes. CBF's role is to serve as an effective pathway for your charitable giving.
Give Online
You can make an online gift through our secure website on our donate page.
Give by Mail
Please make your check payable to the Columbia Basin Foundation with your fund designation or campaign on the memo line. Checks can be mailed to our office at the following address:
Columbia Basin Foundation
101 Basin Street NW
Ephrata, WA 98823
Gifts of Stock
Contributing appreciated securities can generate significant tax savings and enable you to be more philanthropic than you imagined. Please contact our office at (509) 754-4596, and we will provide the required information for a successful stock transfer.
We also take gifts such as:
Cash (wires or transfers)
Treasury Notes
Pass Through Gifts & Grants
You can make a single gift to the Columbia Basin Foundation and work with us to divide your support among the organizations you seek to support. For some donors, this service simplifies their tax reporting and/or allows donors to remain anonymous (if desired).
Gifts via Qualified Charitable Distribution or Required Minimum Distribution
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a tax-smart way for individuals age 70½ or older to support the causes they care about. A QCD allows you to make a gift directly from an eligible IRA to a qualified charitable organization. The distribution may be excluded from your taxable income and can also count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), if applicable. This can make a QCD an effective way to fulfill charitable goals while potentially reducing your taxable income.
Gifts of Real Estate
Real estate represents the largest asset class in the United States, comprising 43 percent of America’s total wealth, yet only 3 percent of charitable giving comes from such gifts.
Please contact Corinne Isaak at cisaak@cbfcommunity.org to learn more about working with CBF to make gifts of real estate.
Gifts of Commodities
The Columbia Basin Foundation has an account set up with the Highline Grain Growers. If you wish to donate a commodity, they will process your request and mail a check directly to CBF.
Life Insurance
The wide variety of choices found in new life insurance products makes such policies ideal vehicles for charitable giving, and for the replacement of wealth that has been transferred to a charitable organization or a charitable remainder trust.
